Olympic refunds?
| PA Auckland I Some New Zealanders who jlost money after cancelling trips to the Olympic Games| at Moscow this year may soon get refunds from the Russian Government. Two members of the Russian Intourist Department are in Auckland negotiating refunds for about 230 spectators who cancelled arrangeiments when most'of the New Zealand-team withdrew. I I More than 540.000 could bei [refunded if a final agreement I can be reached.. Only tourists who cancelled their bookings before midApril stand to gain any refund, and they, will only , get . money for bookings made In Russia, not for air fares.
Both parties say an agreement is close and should be finalised soon after the Russians return home today. The Russians, Mr Sergie Skobkin and Mrs Taisia Nosakova, are also keen to have more New Zealanders visit their country. About 3000 a year do so at present.
