Two large,' impressive Fendalton properties were auctioned yesterday. No. 49 Hamilton Avenue, a white weatherboard house with an iron roof, on a 5071 square metre, landscaped section was passed in at $140,000 but sold immediately after to the last bidder for $150,000. The 1975 Government Valuation is $75,000. The house has three bedrooms, a studio, separate formal diningroom and sunroom. The Waimairi stream runs through the grounds, which extend over the opposite bank.

The auctioneer was Mr Albert . Sprott of Warwick Todd, Ltd. A two-storey house on the corner of Royds Street and Straven Road sold for $68;250 at auction. The 1976 Government. Valuation is $51,000. The three bedroom house, which has a drawing room as well as a livingroom, sits on a 966 square metre section bounded by a stream on the northern side. The auctioneer was Mr P. J. Cook of W. E.
