General forecast: A large anti-cyclone east of New Zealand should maintain settled weather over most of the country, with light winds apart from sea breezes.' However, a shallow depression. .is moving eastwards to the north of New Zealand, giving considerable high cloud.over the northern half of. the island at first. A north-west flow spreading across the south Tasman Sea is expected to give showers in Fiordland and freshening northerly winds in the far south. wise weather fine and cool; north-easterlies, fresh about the coast.
Marlborough, Nelson: Sea breezes about the coast, otherwise light winds; fine and mild. Buller: Moderate winds, mainly between north and west; fine apart from morning mist and low cloud; mild by day. Westland: Moderate winds between north and west predominating; fine, apart from morning mist and low cloud; mild by day.
Outlook: Mainly fine in most districts, except Westland where showers are likely.
