National Party leadership
Sir, —The return home of the Prime Minister, Mr Muldoon, is a sure sign of internal unrest for the foreseeable future. Most of the troubles will be industrial through past Government policies of destroying the jobs and good will of the workers of this country, including the . railwaymen, freezing workers and others. The Prime Minister had already prepared his redundancy plans before leaving on his woi'l tour and the present situation simply means that the Muldoon chickens have now come home to roost. It has been made quite clear to Mr Muldoon that he has lost the confidence of the people and most of all of the Party, and in the interest of this country he should step down for a better man.—Yours, etc., L. WESTNEY. October 16, 1980.
