Fourth eruption
The restless Mount .St Helens unleashed its fourth steam and volcanic ash eruption in less than 48 hours yesterday, sending a plume 6000 m into the air. Scientists had said after three eruptions — in what they described as parts of a single “eruptive phase” — that the volcano could erupt again soon. Earlier the volcano shot a plume of ash and steam 13.6 km high, sending a light cloud of ash over three states. — Vancouver, Washington.
