Uninspiring win to Queensland
NZPA Stourbridge, England The Queensland touring rugby side scored three tries, all the product of quick counter-attacks from broken play, but otherwise made little impression in a disappointing match at Stourbridge on Saturday. They defeated English Students by 22 points to three. The students, a side thrown together once or twice a season, could hardly be expected to show much cohesion, and nor did they. But the amount of possession they won, particularly from the line-outs, must have alarmed Queensland
with the tougher tests against Bristol and Leicester to come during the coming week. Queensland also conceded far too many penalties for their own peace of mind, 17 in all against the nine given away bv the opposition. So it'was not an inspiring display from a team containing nine internationals, for they also tended to kick away what set-piece possession they won. However, they did shine in defence.
