Training hard to ride the length of the South Island is an Auckland quadraplegic, Mr Bruce Burgess, cycling on the streets near his home in Onehunga. Mr Burgess, aged 26, completed a previous epic ride almost a year ago when he pedalled from Auckland to Wellington. He has been training for his latest attempt for four months and will be accompanied by the long-distance walker, Mr Jack Moyle (left). The journey’ will start., at Picton on November 1 and Mr Burgess plans to reach Bluff about 12 ; days later.
