Tour approval sought

The Christchurch softball club, Cosmos, will not go ahead with its intended trip to South Africa next year unless it has the official approval of its national body. When the tour, planned for. 1981 or 1982, was revealed by “The Press” yesterday, Mr Cliff Bodsworth, secretary of the club and senior coach, was quoted as saying that while he would prefer New Zea-

land Softball Association approval, the tour would go ahead regardless,

But Mr Bodsworth made clear yesterday that the tour was conditional on a blessing from the higher authority. “There is no way we will go to South Africa without N.Z.S.A. approval. If they , say yes, we’ll go; if not, we won’t go,” said Mr Bodsworth last evening.
