Cup mount for Phillips
NZPA Melbourne The New Zealand jockey, Gary Phillips, will be making hit-and-run trips to Melbourne for the Spring Carnival. Phillips has been booked to ride the New Zealand stayer, Our Big Gamble, in the Melbourne Cup on November 4. But Phillips xvillfly to Melbourne on Sunday to ride Sir Bart in the Geelong Derby trial on Wednesday, and return home again. Ji Sir Bart was third sto Prince Majestic in the Hawke’s Bay Guineas and since has won at Otaki.
