Property Market

A two-year-old brick bungalow and section on the comer of Philomel Street and Inverell Place, North Beach, sold at mortgagee auction yesterday for its 1980 Government Valuation of $24,500. The Housing Corporation, as mortgagees, began the auction with a bid of $24,000, and there was only one bid of $5OO after that. The house, which stands on a 596 square metre section, has a large lounge, three bedrooms, and a Monier tile roof, and needs some renovation. There is no garage on the property, which is about 800 m from shops and a school.

The auctioneer was Mr Tony Battersby, of Ford and Hadfield, Ltd.
