More trade duties to be cut

PA Wellington A further list of goods for inclusion in schedule A of the New Zealand-Australia Free Trade Agreement would be published in the Gazette today, said the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Adams-Schneider) yesterday. The list contains 13 items, including several wood products, carpet-joining tape, and windscreen wiper arms and blades.

The value of present twoway trade in these items was about $2.3 million, The addition of these goods to schedule A means that any Customs duties on the items will be phased out over a period of up to eight years. The first reduction in duties will apply retrospectively from July 1, 1980,
