18 assassinated
NZPA San Salvador Eighteen people were found assassinated in El Salvador on Monday, Victims of the ongoing violence that is racking the Central Amerijzan country, a police spokesman has said. . Eleven bodies were found 67 km north of the. PanAmerican Highway, the spokesman said. The other seven were scattered in different parts of the capital. The spokesman said the victims’ identities could not
be immediately determined and he said that the police had as yet no clue as to who killed them. Earlier, a military spokes-* man reported more than 26 people killed and five injured in Leftist guerrilla attacks and - ambushes against Army and police patrols in the provinces over the weekend. More than 4000 have died in political strife in the country since the beginning of the year. ,
