MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT VACANCY NO. 22: RADIO AND ELECTRONICS -CIVIL AVIATION DIVISION The Ministry of Transport invites applications for Telecommunications Technical Cadetships. AGE: Applicants should be not more than 19 years of age at the end of 1980. EDUCATION: University Entrance qualification including mathematics and physics or sixth form certificate of grade five or better in at least mathematics and physics. Students in the sixth form this year may apply. REQUIREMENTS: Applicants should have a definite interest in radio and electronics and must not be colour blind. TRAINING: Cadets receive practical training at the Ministry establishments at Christchurch and Wellington, together with daytime tuition at a technical institute. Cadets are required to study for the Technicians' Certificate (Radio) and the Suplementary Certificate in Radio, together with radar and line communication to Ministry standards. Cadets are bonded on appointment to remain the Public Service for not less than three years after completion of study for the Supplementary Certificate. SALARY: Commencing salaries will be in accordance with the applicant's educational qualifications.
