3.35: “JOURNEY INTO FEAR.” (Film, RKO, 1942, black and white). A wartime spy melodrama about a naive American’s attempt to smuggle armaments into Turky. Starring Joseph Cotten, Orson Welles, Dolores Del Rio. 4.40: REMBRANDT. Rembrandt’s last years were spent alone, but it was a time of achievement and fulfilment. (Repeat, final).
5.00: LUCAN, Lucan saves a young boy’s life. (Repeat),
6.00: THE ASSOCIATES. Leslie’s new street-wise boyfriend ' argues . bitterly with the conservative Eliot. 6.30: NEWS.
5.10: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SPECIALS. A study of the “big cats” which have always won man’s fear and respect. (Repeat). 5.55: NEWS. Further bulletin at 7 p.m. 6.00: DOCTOR WHO. The final segment of the Key seems to be related to the kidnapped princess. 6.25: I LIKE THAT ONE TWO. A replay ,of viewers' favourite television scenes. 6.35: GRANGE HILL. Drama series set in an English comprehensive school.
7.00: CLOSE TO HOME. Doh resigns himself to accepting Chris Elsey’s rapid movement up through the ranks.
7.30: REGIONAL NEWS. 8.00: M.A.S.H. As temporary commander, Hawkeye, deals with a Korean invasion of the unit.
8.30: THE GENTLE TOUCH. Maggie worries about her 16-year-old son when she finds girlie magazines in his bedroom.;
7.00: CONTACT. The topic of this week’s Auckland Chamber Debate “That Profit is a Dirty Word” is argued by Jim Hopkins, Father Michael O’Dea, James Young, and Tim Shadbolt. 7.30: A FAMILY AFFAIR. Marjorie becomes friendly with' her teacher at evening class and Richard’s time with Frenshams comes to an end. 8.20: KALEIDOSCOPE. Featuring an excerpt from Bruce Mason’s play, “Blood of the Lamb,” and a documentary which examines the use of industrial design in New Zealand.
9.30: BENNY HILL IN THE U.SA. Bawdy humour with British comedian. Benny Hill.
10.00: DALLAS. Both families are distressed to learn of Digger s medical problem. 10.55: NEWS, CLOSE DOWN.
9.30: COUSIN KIT. A play about a cynical woman journalist whose attitude shocks a young girl who works for her. (Starring Anne Kristen). 10.00: NEWS AT TEN. 10.30: “THE HOMECOMING.” (Film, British, 1973). A fine production of Pinter’s play about a young man who introduces his wife to his London family. 12.20 a.m.: CLOSE DOWN.’
