Visit by T.A.A. jet

The first Trans Australia Airlines jet to fly to Christchurch is scheduled to

land at Christchurch Airport on Monday after a flight from Seattle in the United States. The aircraft, a Boeing 727, is similar to the aircraft T.A.A. plans to use on the proposed Hobart-to-Christ-church route. The airline still awaits Federal Govern-

ment approval on its application to fly a fortnightly Saturday service across the Tasman.

The Boeing, named the Bert Hinkler after the Australian aviator, will be seen in New Zealand on Monday before its first landing in Australia. The aircraft, the latest addition to T.A.A.’s fleet, will be on its delivery flight from the Boeing factory in Seattle, Washington.
