Shipping rates up

PA Wellington Agreement with the British Shipping Lines and the Shipping Corporation of New Zealand on freight rates to apply for the 12 months from November, 1980, has been announced by the Meat and Dairy Board. The new dairy freights will be 2.06 per cent above present levels and meat rates will rise 3 per cent.

A small deduction will be made in the meat aggregation and port services charges, which will be incorporated in the new freight rates. The freight differentials ,to Piraeus (Greece), Genoa (Italy) and Fos (France) will be eliminated. The greater increase in the meat rate recognises the higher volumes of • meat . affected by this change.
