‘Quinrellas’ at Te Aroha

PA Auckland A better selecting three quinellas at Te Aroha on next Wednesday will win or share $5OOO — for no outlay. The Te Aroha Jockey Club will be running what it calls a "quinrella” on the T.A.B. double races and the last event on the programme. Two of these races probably will be the Guineas Trial and the Herries Memorial, a 1600 - event for classes one and two.

The club has decided to offer this attraction in view of the excellent response to its $lO,OOO free jackpot at its last meeting in June. “The entry forms showed that people had come from many parts of the North Island,” said the secretary, Mr D. J. Lloyd yesterday. “Other clubs followed the idea so we thought we should come up with something different again now.” Entry forms for the "quinrella” will be distributed on the course, and entrants will be able to take- up to five combinations in each race.
