■ Twelve schools contested the intermediate schools’ crosscountry events run at Hagley Park yesterday. Results were:— Junior girls.—Caroline Clarkson (Heaton), 14min 13.4 sec, 1; Adrienne Poole (Manning), 2; Deborah Small .(Kirkwood), 3. Junior boys.—Grant Difford (Shirley), 13:11.8. 1; Darren Thomson (Shirley). 2; Todd . Gibson (Branston). 3. Senior girls.—Helen Mahon
(Heaton), 13:47.8, 1; Robin Clark (Ashburton), 2; Alison Clarke (Branston), 3. Senior boys (longer course)—• Chris Whiting (Heaton), 13:56.8, 1; Craig Macguire (Shirley), 2; Graham Fennessy (Christchurch South). 3.
