Aust, driver for S.L
Chris Lang, one of the most successful junior reinsmen in Victoria, arrived in Christchurch yesterday for a fortnight in New Zealand. He will spend his first week with the Templeton trainer, Colin de Filippi, and his wife, and then, accompanied by Bruce Barlass, an employee of Sam Ballantyne, he will travel to Southland to visit studs and training establishments.
Later he will spend some time at Jim Dalgety’s Lantana Lodge Stud, West Meh ton.
Chris Lang, who is 20, is a member of a well-known Victorian trotting family. His brother, Gavin, won a Similar trip. His father, Graham, won the national driving championship in Australia last season.
Chris Lang drove 11 winners in the country and two in the city last season, while so far this season he has had two city wins and one in the country. He represented Victoria in the national junior driving championship last season. This involves two drivers from each state competing over three
