Azranee for Australia
NZPA Melbourne The classy New Zealand galloper Azranee will return to Australia this week to have a tilt at the major cups. Azranee, trained in New Zealand by Gary Ritchie, raced with success in Sydney last season before returning home to be spelled and prepared for the Caulfield and ’ Melbourne Cups. Azranee will enter the stable of . Merv Ritchie, Gary’s father. Last season Ritchie saddled up Azranee for four victories in Sydney. His first mission will be the Rosehill Cup on September 20. All going well he will be brought to Melbourne for the Caulfield Clip in which he has 50kg. He has been weighted the same in the Melbourne Cup.
