Antarctic Convention signing

NZPA Canberra Australia . will sign the Convention ,on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources at a ceremony in Canberra today. The other 12 Antarctic Treaty parties will be represented at the signing, as will West Germany and East Germany.

The convention was drawn up and adopted at Canberra in May, and will remain open until December 31. The treaty nations are Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Chile, France, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Britain,? the United States, the Soviet Union, and Poland.
