Opossum-Skin prices up about 30 p.c.
PA Dunedin Prices at the second opcssumikin auction of the season in Dunedin on September 4 rose by about 30 per. cent on the previous sale. The top price of $23.06 was for a large grade-one dark-brown skin. The top price at the July auction was $18.15. Bidding at the .auction, which was conducted by Dalgety, Ltd, was animated, especially for the better quality, furrier types. Most of the 228,047 skins offered would have been caught from early- winter to mid-winter. The severe mating damage which affected skins In- late autumn was less obvious, resulting in the over-all improvecnent in the quality compared with the July sale.
