Tourism paper war a success

The Canterbury Promotion Council has launched a successful “paper war ’ to make visitors aware of the province’s tourist attractions.

The council’s information centre in Worcester Street has been dubbed the “centralised brochure supply sendee.” Bulk supplies of the seven most popular local toursit brochures have been stored at the centre. The 30,000 brochures have been distributed to meet requests from hotels and motels, travel agencies and tourist interests. According to the council, the response has been positive. More than half of the brochures have been distributed. The seven most popular are Orana Park, Willowbank, Ferrymead, Yaldhurst Transport Museum, dhurst Transport Museum, Mount Hutt, and Riverside Walk. The Visitor’s Guide is included.
