True hunting
Rex Forrester has written “True Hunting Adventures” as a guide for the huntsmen and to enable those with a love of adventure to join with him on some memorable hunts. He writes that hunting is not just killing an animal, for anyone can do that Hunting is sharing a love of the great outdoors, comradeship and caring about nature . . . when you get an animal in your .sights, you may decide not to pull the trigger but let it walk away. The animals are only the lure that draws men to the adventure that goes along with them.
Training for hunts also does a great deal for the individuality and general “know-how” of the kiwi male, according to the author. The professionalism in hunting surfaces in the chapter “Slaughter in the clouds." As an alternative to killing, Rex Forrester has included the chapter “Bring ’em back alive” to re-assure readers that many professionals, despite the killing do consider conservation. “Teach a boy hunting” has been written to help children develop an interest in the sport.
