Christchurch's “Bible Lady”, Mrs Renee Stanton, beli ves that God answered her request to get 10,000 signatures for her petition opposing nudity. The petition, which asks the Government to make it illegal to exhibit thnaked human body for entertainment or profit, has been signed by 10,0.03 people throughout New Zealand. Mrs Stanton said the Minister of Justice (Mr McLay) had the petition
yesterday morning. He would pass it to the member of Parliament for Avon (Mrs Mary Batchelor), who would present it to Parliament. Mrs Stanton said the P'tition was to stop exploitation of the body. She b lieved that the number of signatures the petition had attracted was a “miracle”, because she had asked God for 10,000. “I have a feeling that we will get this petition granted to us?’ she said.
