Tom Scott’s position

Sir, — I am reminded of the Philippines National Defence Minister in a recent film. To the question: “Who do you consider to be subversive?” he replied: “Those who are against the Government.” This: seems to be now the policy of the Prime Minister and it would include about 60 per cent of the voting ■ population. In this country of so few investigative and Critical journalists, we need the reporting talents of Tom Scott, and I have asked the Commonwealth Secretariat what is it going to do about this episode as well as the lack of action on a : possible Springbok 'rugby tour. — Yours, etc.,

M. O’NEILL. August 24, 1980.
