Sunday soccer results
Gladstone has won the first division. Unibro Sunday soccer league title by a massive nine points. Yesterday it beat Condor, 5-1, in its final match. North Beach A finished second, while Prince of Wales A will be relegated to the second division and will also have to apply for re-election. Woolston Foundry has been promoted to the first division after winning the second division title. In another second division match, Carlton beat North Beach B, 2-0, with Brent Murphy of North Beach being sent, off and his captain later walked off the pitch during the match. Fire Brigade was relegated from the second division and its place will be taken by Andersons. which finished second in the third division. But with one Avonhead team in the second division, the club’s third team
cannot be promoted, despite winning its grade. Prince of Wales B will be relegated to the president’s grade to oe replaced by Air New Zealand. Results:— Division one: Gladstone 5, Condor 1; Warner’s Sumner 2, North Beach A 2; Foresters beat Avonhead A by default; Mastagard A beat Prince of Wales A by default. Division two: Carlton 2, Norvh Beach B 0; Ham 3. Woolston Foundry 1; Conley and Blyth 1, Sunnyside 1; Avonhead B beat Fire Brigade by default. Division three: Grenadier A 3, Lyttelton 0; Andersons 1, Mastagard B 0: Music Machine 3, Prince of Wales B 1; Avonhead C 7, Addington 3. President’s grade: Kenco 12, Grenadier B 0; Air New Zealand 6, Sparta 0; C.S.B. 3, Ashburton 0.
