Cecilia Trosca back for brief visit Shipping News

The Lane Walker Rudkin fishing boat Cecilia Trosca, which was in port at Lyttelton for four months being fitted out; returned for a brief visit this week. Lane Walker Rudkin’s operations manager, Mr M. A. Stevens, said that the boat had returned to Lyttelton only to pick up a piece of navigational gear before returning to Timaru, where she was based in the fishing activities of Strathallan Fisheries, an L.W.R. subsidiary. ’ The Cecilia Trosca first came to Lyttelton on March 22 after a voyage from Norway, and was expected to remain for about 30 days while she wax fitted with refrigerating gear. However, difficulties in obtaining materials and fitting the new equipment kept her in port until July 21. The Cecilia Trosca has some of the most sophisticated navigational equipment available, and will Spend as many as 30 days at sea at a time while freezing as much as 16 tonnes of fish per day. The 38m vessel fishes to depths Of 600 m with long lines. Her catch is distributed to established markets by Strathallan, from Timaru. . , ARRIVALS Coastal Trader (6.59 a.m.), 2500, Dunedin (S.C.N.Z.), Entalina (2.30 p.m.). 19,221, Glandstone (Dalgety).
