Politicians freed
South Korea’s martial-law authorities have set free 17 politicians, including seven former Ministers, who had been under investigation on suspicion of corruption. The martial-law command said last week that they would be exempt from prosecution in exchange for the donation of wealth, allegedly gained illegally. Fourteen parliamentarians were forced to submit resignations before they were released. — Seoul.
