Migration loss down
PA Wellington Net permanent and long-term migration from New Zealand totalled 29,750 in the year to May, 1980, compared with 42,768 recorded in the previous year according to the Government Statistician (Dr J. H. Darwin.) The figures are final, updating earlier provisional figures released on June 23. In May this year the net permanent and long-term loss was 3442, compared with 5620 in May, 1979.
