Evander, while France’s favoured Ideal Du Gazeau, guided by Eugene Lefevre, was sixth. Itlay’s Doringo, driven by Giancarlo Baldi, wound up eighth and last after breaks ing just past the start, behind seventh placed Motor Mouth, another United States entry. Classical Way, winner of last week’s $250,000 International, was timed at 3min 07.1 s on Saturday, well outside the world record set in this event three years ago by Kash Minbar.
