McAuley sets archery record

Dave McAuley of Christchurch took his third South Island indoor archery championships title, and picked up a New Zealand record with it. when the event was held at Ashburton last week-end. .r

McAuley took an early lead in the competition and stayed there His score of 279 bettered by one point the previous F.I.T.A. t class record.

There was a close battle for second place, eventually taken by Bill Inwood of Ashburton. Ivan Powley of Dunedin and Dave Henshaw of Christchurch finished third equal. Ann Shurrock of Ashburton

had a fairly comfortable win in the women’s event. Results:—
