Bankcard affiliates
PA Wellington . New Zealand Bankcard is soon to become fully international through the issue and acceptance of the world-wide Master Charge card. The new service would extend the Bankcard credit card services provided in New Zealand by the A.N.Z. Banking Group (N,Z;), Ltd,'Bank of New South Wales, Ltd, and the Commercial Bank of Australia, Ltd, the general manager of New Zealand Bank Card Associates, Ltd (Mr T. D. Sullivan) has said. He said Bankcard had affiliated with the Interbank
Card Association, one of the world’s biggest charge card organisations which administered the Master Charge programme throughout the world.
More than 73 million cardholders and three million men chant outlets in 140 countries now .took part in Master Charge. The New Zealand Bankcard could be used in Australia and those travelling beyond Australia could apply for a Master Charge card, to use for all travel-related spending in any country where the card was accepted, said Mr Sullivan.
