Tradesmen! Considerteaching woodwork, metalwork, technic drawing. A course of teacher training will commence in February 1981. Breaks for the normal school holidays will be taken and the course will end in early December 1981. The training centres are located at Auckland, and Christchurch. Qualified tradesmen will be trained for the teaching of woodwork and metalwork in secondary schools, intermediate schools and manual training centres. There are a few vacancies in secondary schools for teachers of technical drawing only. Recognition of the experience gained in the trade is provided by increasing the starting salary one salary increment for each two years of trade service. . For example, ten years trade experience following trade certificate (or 20 years of age) will give a • starting salary of $13,300 following the course, increasing annually over four .years to at least $15,883. Applicants with qualifications in advance . of trade certificate will be eligibleforhighersalaries. Applicants.should have had a good secondary education and have a trade certificate, dr equivalent.
