Rondel returns

Special correspondent Auckland Rondel, last year’s InterDominion champion, had his first hoppled workout of a fresh preparation at Alexandra Park on Wednesday. After the gelding had covered 2400 m with the promising maiden Amman, his trainer-driver, P. G. Young, said: “So far so good.” Rondel and Amman, recorded 3min 355, the last 800 m in Imin 7s and 400 m in 32.25. Young said if Rondel continued to make good progress he would probably race at the Auckland meeting next month. Rondel was put out ot training after developing ligament trouble m, a pastern last December.
