Market leaders mixed
The New Zealand sharemarket opened the week on a steady note in moderate trading yesterday. The market leaders were mixed. N.Z. Forest Products, Challenge, Feltex, and Wattie all firmed, but Fletcher, National Insurance, South British, and Winstone were easier. Meat companies were still in demand, although Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating lost lc to 183 c. The N.Z.U.C. index eased 0.04 points to 438.51.
