Voyages to U.K. and America
New Zealanders who prefer leisurely sea travel to and from Britain or North America will have a choice of seven P. and O. liner voyages in the next 18 months. Three ships, Oriana, Canberra and Pacific Princess, will provide the international sailings. The voyages combine the fun and relaxation of sea travel with the opportunity to visit some of the world’s most exotic resort playgrounds. The 42,000-ton Oriana will make three voyages between Auckland and Southampton via North America and the Panama Canal before the end of ISBI. In November she will sail from Southampton for a 36-night voyage to Auckland for her 1980/81 South Pacific summer cruising season. Pacific Princess will sail from Auckland on October 30 for a 21-night voyage to Los Angeles, via Lautoka, Apia, Papeete, Moorea, and Honolulu. The ship will also sail close by Bora Bora and Christmas Island. The 45,000 ton superliner Canberra will sail from Southampton next January for a round-the-world cruise which again will offer New Zealanders the opportunity of sailing home from Britain, or from New Zealand to Britain.
