Record price for Angus bull
PA Timaru A New Zealand record $30,000 was paid for a Angus stud bull by a Hawke’s Bay buyer, V. Lopdell, at the eleventh Angus sale on account of Mr J. R. Fraser, of Sterndale. Totara Valley. South Canterbury, yesterday. Thirty-seven performancetested two-year-old bulls went under the hammer for an average of $3300 and an over-all sale price of about $121,000.
The top priced sire was Stern 314 whose sire was Zodiac Tst of Kaharau, 31,567.
The second-highest priced bull was Stem 258 which was purchased by D. Borck, of Taumarunui, for $25,000.
