Seafarer shines
Special correspondent Dunedin Seafarer, which is racing on the second day of the Grand National meeting, worked keenly at Wingatui yesterday morning. Seafarer looked sharper for his race on Saturday when he was the beaten favourite. He was travelling well outside Candyboy after sprinting 800 m in 50.9 s on the sand. Candyboy had worked up to speed from the 1200 m.
I Musterer led The Crofter by two lengths ending 800 m in 55.75. My Lisa Leigh worked over a round and ran the last 600 m with Ef Cee in 38s. Mister Bojangles, which makes a fresh start on Saturday, and his stablemate land’race-rival Barrow Boy, Iran the last 600 m of 800 m ’in 39.9 s on an easy inside grass. Bill Skelton has been engaged to ride Mister 80-I ; jangles in the Cashmere i Plate.
