Clothes shop

Sir, — In reply to your correspondent’s views on prices charged in the Opportunity Shop in Armagh Street, it is felt that a gift bestowed should not have any “strings” regarding price, etc, . attached to it. One would think Mrs Holyoake (July 10) would have been delighted to observe her coat was valued so highly that $l9 would be earned for a good cause. Obviously the quality was superior and this was duly appreciated and a comparison made with what it would cost new. How much worse to see it priced at $1 or $2 when one had paid so dearly, for it. I have been associated with the ladies in this shop for quite a . considerable time and have found them to be very kind and generous. No articles are over-priced, quite the reverse, and this is borne out by the many pensioners, students, young mothers, etc., who consistently shop there.: —Yours, etc..
