Stakes up A total of $50,000 in stakes will be on offer for the' two days of the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club’s meetings in October and December. The stakes for the maiden events have been boosted by $3OO to $2000; the Cl event from $l9OO to $2250; the C2 from $2lOO to $2500; the C 3 from $2300 to $2700; the C 4 from 52700 to $3000; and the open class trot has been increased by $7OO to $4200; in a total rise of 11.4 per cent on last year.
