Second Lyttelton call by Farrell

The second visit Of a vessel in Farrell' Lines’ new expanded service to include Lyttelton in its east coast of North America trade took place yesterday with the arrival of the 21,150-ton container ship Austral Ensign. The new service was introduced to Lyttelton on June 12 when the Austral Pioneer berthed at the container terminal for an exchange of 265 containers at a net handling rate of 21.2 an hour. The Austral Ensign, which was worked at . a slower rate because she is an older ship, exchanged'about 210 containers, of which 70 were refrigerated and about 100 contained export products. She arrived at Lyttelton early yesterday morning on a voyage which began at Vera Cruz on June 10 and which included calls at New Orleans. Charleston. Philadelphia. New York, Norfolk, Sydney, and Melbourne. She sailed for Wellington and Auckland and is expected to call once again at Vera Cruz about August 10 before sailing north for ports along-the east coast of North America as far north as Boston and Montreal.
