Sinatra may come to N.Z.
PA Wellington Frank Sinatra and Elton John are both likely to appear in New Zealand this summer. Promote-rs for Sinatra’s proposed Australasian tour are looking at Auckland’s Ellerslie racecourse as a venue for “Old Blue Eyes,” according to the Auckland promoter, Mr Benny Levin. ■Mr Levin’s partner, Mr R. Clark, who says Sammy Davis junior gave Sinatra a glowing picture of New Zealand, gives the country a good chance of a Sinatra concert.
Mr Levin said yesterday there was a strong chance Elton John would come here
in November, but he was awaiting confirmation.
Elton John broke attendance records when he last came six years ago, but swore he would not return after a party incident which put him and his manager in court on assault charges.. His manager, Mr John Reid, spent almost a month in jail.
