The New Zealanders were on tire track for five minutes, drawing polite applause when they were formally announced as they passed Chairman Brezhnev on the saluting base and. more enthusiastic support when they passed two groups of Australian spectators at the top bend. No New Zealanders in the crowd made themselves obvious.
