Community joins in
Fifty communities throughout Canterbury were involved in “Community Favour Day” on Saturday and according to one of the organisers, Mr Brian Allpress, it was a success. ■ The project, organised by the. television news programme, “The Mainland Touch,” -was held instead
of a Telethon but according to Mr Allpress it was a “low-key thing,” with no money collections. At this stage it is not known whether it will be held again next year, but Mr Allpress would like to see “several groups do it off their own bat.” Communities from Rangiora to Waimate were involved.
