N.Z. rider wins rich Vic. race
NZPA ' Melbourne New Zealand professional cyclist Wayne Hildred, 24, who now lives in Melbourne, scored a spectacular victory in the rich one hour sAust 4000 Richmond Grand Prix yesterday before a large crowd. : The, Taranaki-born Hildred continued on his giant killer pedalling way by defeating dual Melbourne to Warmambool winner David Allan, 23, by a wheel with Bendigo’s Tony McCaig, 26, three lengths away in third place. Hildred, who decided to stay in Victoria after winning a record three road opens three years ago when a virtual novice, defeated triple sun winner John Trevorrow and. liational party tour winner Laurie Venn in the recent three-day peninsula tour which he won for the second successive year.
