New head of N-body
In yet another move aimed at shaking up Federal oversight of the atomic power industry President Carter has nominated Dr Albert Camesale, a nuclear engineer from New York City, to be the new chairman of the troubled Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The nomination, which must be approved by the Senate, is the latest in a series of moves made by the Federal Government since the accident at the Three Mile Island atomic power plant in Pennsylvania 15 months ago. Last December, Mr Carter pointedly demoted the then chairman of the commission, Joseph Hendrie, and named Mr John Aheame, then a commissioner, as the interim chairman. — Washington.
