Buoyant year for C.F.M.

With the 1979/80 export killing season now almost complete, results to date indicate that the after-tax profit of Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, ineluding extraordinary' items, will exceed last year’s, the chairman (Mr I. E. O. McKellar) said yesterday. “Industrial relations throughout the season have been excellent and this spirit of co-operation has contributed in large measure to a most satisfactory’ performance,” he said.

‘The number of sheep and lambs processed at the CFM plants is likely to exceed 4 million ~ well ahead of the anticipated kill figure. The predicted drop in the number of cattle processed has been less than forecast, and the final kill should be in the region of 78,000.”
