Country women’s conference
The Country Women's Institutes will hold their fiftieth annual conference in the Wellington Town Hall between July 28 and 31.
Remits on the institute's constitution are on the agenda, and delegates will also discuss such topics as the Guardianship Act, the country schools transport system, and the addition of horticultural and agricultural sciences to the University Entrance and Bursary examinations.
A Canterbury group of 16 delegates, 17 visitors, and three working voluntary organisers will attend.
The conference will be opened by the GovernorGeneral (Sir Keith Holyoake).
