KAWERAU PRODUCTION MANAGER Applications are invited from, experienced ' Managers with a sound record of human resource development and a thorough knowledge'of the J paper industry's processes and technology for this " senior position in a growing organisation. This position involves over-all responsibility to the ( Operations Manager for the production function of the company's mill at Kawerau in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. The Production Manager must necessarily have the ability to co-ordinate production activities and through a highly developed insight into papermaking and process technology to lead and support various production teams in problem-solving and plant development activities directed to continuously developing productivity to the highest attainable levels. A number of established units are the specific responsibility of Unit Superintendents and five. Superintendents will report to the Production Manager. The company employs in excess of 450 people at Kawerau and operates three tissue machines and a refiner pulp mill on a. continuous basis, producing diverse products for domestic and export markets. A paper cutting and finishing operation prepares sheets and other products for merchant and specialty wrapping uses in what is substantially a week day operation. Paper qualities include dry crepe from 16-60 G.S.M. for a wide range of disposable products, M.G. tissues for wrapping, patterns, waxing, gluefilm, fruitwraps and M.G./M.F. specialty tissue for one-time carbon, laminating, imitation greaseproof, etc..
